Plenary grows new funds management business with key appointments

Published 18 June 2021

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Plenary has appointed a team of expert fund managers to its new infrastructure funds management business, Plenary Funds Management.

It follows the recent appointment of industry veteran Julie-Anne Mizzi as Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of the new business, leading Plenary’s funds management activities across Australia and New Zealand.

The team joins from AMP Capital where – under Julie-Anne’s decade-long stewardship – they were instrumental in successfully growing AMP Capital’s Community Infrastructure Fund from a portfolio of four assets to now comprise 18 assets with an enterprise value of more than $8 billion.

The team now comprises:

  • Julie-Anne Mizzi as Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer

  • Simon Hunter as Partner and Head of Asset Management

  • Kathlyn Crafford as Director, Asset Management

  • Kareen Livingstone as Director

  • Liam Brosnan as Associate

  • Ser Hui Lee as Finance Manager

Plenary Chief Executive David Lamming welcomed the appointments, saying it was an exciting and critical next step in establishing Plenary’s boutique funds management business focused on infrastructure.

“We are excited to be welcoming such a talented, experienced group of funds management professionals to Plenary,” Mr Lamming said.

“Our expansion into infrastructure-focused funds management is a natural evolution in the development and growth of the company, and the team’s experience will naturally complement our existing activities as a specialist in the public infrastructure space.”

“We look forward to establishing and growing Plenary Funds Management in a way that helps to solidify our position as Australia’s leading long-term investor, developer and manager of public infrastructure.”

Liam and Ser Hui commence in July, Julie-Anne, Kathlyn and Kareen in September, and Simon in December.
