Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre Project set for first public viewing

MELBOURNE, VICTORIA – Plenary Health is pleased to confirm that on Sunday 26 July 2015, the under construction-Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Project will open to the public for the first time as part of the annual Open House Melbourne program.

Plenary Health and Grocon PCL, together with the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services will host a number of hard-hat tours during the day. Members of the public will be able to pre-book a spot on one of these tours from Wednesday 8 July via the Open House Melbourne website.

Plenary Group Principal John O’Rourke said: “Plenary Health is delighted to be able to give some lucky members of the public a sneak peek into the construction of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre ahead of its official opening mid next year.

“I am confident that those able to secure a spot on the day will be absolutely fascinated by this $1 billion facility being built for cancer treatment, research and care.”

With the building’s primary façade completed last month, work on the facility’s complex fit out continues in earnest with many areas approaching completion ready for testing and commissioning.

Tours will take in the facility’s 13-storey light-filled atrium, laboratories, an inpatient ward, an operating theatre and the building’s magnificent views of the city.

Mr O’Rourke urged people to get in quick as places on the tours are limited.
