Plenary wins big at Infrastructure Investor Awards

MELBOURNE, VIC – Plenary Group has taken out four awards at the recent Infrastructure Investor Awards including two international accolades; Global Developer of the Year and Global Deal of the Year.

With 25,000 votes cast by readers of Infrastructure Investor Magazine, Plenary Group was the biggest winner receiving the following honours:

• Global Developer of the Year
• Global Deal of the Year – North West Rail Link
• PPP Deal of the Year North America – Pennsylvania Rapid Bridge Replacement Project
• Deal of the Year Asia Pacific – North West Rail Link

Plenary Group Principal, John O’Rourke, said that to receive global recognition from industry peers was an exciting addition to the Asia Pacific Developer of the Year award the company had already received from Infrastructure Investor.

“To win Global Developer of the Year is indicative of how far Plenary Group has come over the last two years,” said Mr O’Rourke.

“The continued strong growth of our Australian and Canadian portfolios and our rapid expansion into the US market has consolidated our position as a world leader in social and civil infrastructure development and delivery.”

President of Plenary Group’s North American business, Paul Dunstan, said the awards were great recognition the company’s continued success.

“It’s been a big two years for Plenary in North America,” said Mr Dunstan.  “We have remained a leader in the Canadian PPP market, securing seven new concessions worth over $2 billion, and our fast-emerging US business has secured four projects worth some $2.4 billion.”

Plenary Group has a portfolio of 34 projects across Asia Pacific and North America and a total project capitalisation of some $21 billion.

Infrastructure Investor highlighted Plenary Group’s delivery of a number of significant civil infrastructure projects across Australia, the US and Canada including the A$3.7 billion North West Rail Link PPP in Sydney, the USD$899 million Pennsylvania Rapid Bridge Replacement Project and the C$583 million Waterloo Light Rapid Transit project in Ontario – all of which reached Financial Close in 2014.
