Pennsylvania Rapid Bridge Replacement Project Wins Gold for Best Transport Project
Published 22 October 2015PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES: The Pennsylvania Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a public-private partnership between the State Department of Transportation and a consortium including Plenary Group, received P3 Bulletin’s Gold Award for the Best Transport Project of the year at its 2015 P3 Awards event in New York.
As the first multi asset P3 to be undertaken in the US, the project beat out nine other projects across the USA.
Plenary Concessions’ Chief Operating Officer Matt Girard said, “we are delighted to receive this award for such an outstanding project, as well as working with such a strong and committed partner in PennDOT.”
“The consortium partners are working hard to deliver high-quality bridges across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, on time and on budget.”
The project will see the new design and construction of 558 structurally deficient, geographically dispersed bridges across the state over a three year period, followed by a 25 year O&M period for each bridge.
The Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners consortium financed and will manage the design, construction and maintenance of the project.
The judges of the P3 awards commented on the “truly exemplary project” and praised the speed of execution and delivery.
