Northwest Rapid Transit consortium wins at Australian National Infrastructure Awards

SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES – The Northwest Rapid Transit Consortium (NRT) together with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) was honoured on 25 March 2014 with the Government Partnership Excellence Award at the National Infrastructure Awards in Sydney, Australia organised by Infrastructure Partnerships Australia.

The Government Partnership Excellence Award recognises the delivery of infrastructure through a genuine partnership between government and the private sector.

NRT is delivering the operations, trains and systems contract for the $AU8.3 billion North West Rail Link – Australia’s biggest public transport infrastructure project. The Public Private Partnership with TfNSW includes the design, construction and future operations and maintenance of the 36-kilometre railway, which will be Australia’s first fully automated rapid transit network when services start in the first half of 2019.

The NRT consortium includes John Holland Pty Ltd., Leighton Contractors Pty Ltd., MTR Corporation (Australia), UGL Rail Services Pty Ltd., Plenary Group Pty Ltd. and other financial sponsors.
