Burpengary State Secondary College - Officially Open for 2016

QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA: Plenary Schools has taken part in celebrating the official opening of Burpengary State Secondary College at a ceremony attended by the Minister for Education, Hon Kate Jones. 

The facilities were handed over to the school principal in plenty of time for enrolees to be welcomed for the beginning of the 2016 academic school year. 

In a collaborative partnership with the Department of Education and Training, Plenary Schools’ with their consortium partners, Watpac Construction and Delta FM were responsible for the on time delivery of the School and continue to provide the day to day facility management services. 

Plenary Group Chief Operating Officer Glenn Hay said he was particularly pleased with the way all of the consortium parties had worked with the State to achieve what is a high quality outcome for the local community. 

“The feedback our team has received from the new school Principal and his local stakeholders has been very positive, which is always one of the most satisfying outcomes of handing over a new community asset”. 

“With each new school delivered, Plenary Schools continues to improve the educational facilities and opportunities for South East Queensland,” Glenn said. 

Mr Hay said the school is expected to grow in enrolments year on year as these new communities grow. 

The next stage of construction will continue at the school in the New Year, with new classrooms, a School Hall and a Performing Arts Centre opening. 

Burpengary State Secondary College is one of the 10 schools being delivered through a partnership between Plenary Schools and the Department of Education and Training, as a part of the Queensland Schools Project. 

The Plenary schools consortium is continuing work on further schools that are to be completed for the 2017 academic year.
