Plenary invited to bid on Peel Memorial Hospital

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – Infrastructure Ontario and William Osler Health System have released a request for proposals to Plenary Health and two other shortlisted teams to design, build, finance and maintain the new state of the art facility.
Deb Matthews, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, Linda Jeffrey, MPP for Brampton-Springdale and Vic Dhillon, MPP for Brampton West joined the Osler redevelopment team and hospital staff to announce the RFP release during a sign unveiling event at the Peel Memorial site.
Following a request for qualifications issued in November 2012, Plenary Health was shortlisted for the project in April this year.
Peel Memorial will provide patients with specialized care in a modern facility. It will serve as a model for community partnerships, offering more choices for patients, increased access to high quality services and innovative models of care.
Main areas of services will include:
- rehabilitation and senior's wellness
- mental health and addictions programs
- women's and children's wellness programs
- medical/surgical services focusing on chronic disease management and preventative care
- urgent care and day surgeries
- diagnostic services, including CT, x-ray and ultrasound, laboratory, pharmacy and neurology/cardiac diagnostics and family health
- preventative care for chronic conditions such as diabetes and asthma
The project will focus on sustainable design and construction, with the goal of achieving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Silver certification. LEED® buildings focus on healthy indoor environments, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and efficient use of energy, water and other resources.
Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care are working with William Osler Health System to develop the new Peel Memorial, which will be publicly owned and publicly controlled.
