Plenary Group: Asia Pacific Infrastructure Developer of the Year

Published 01 March 2013

Plenary Group has been named 2012 Asia Pacific Infrastructure Developer of the Year by international magazine Infrastructure Investor.

Managing Director, Paul Oppenheim, said that the most pleasing element of the Infrastructure Investor award was the peer recognition that comes from an award voted on by the industry itself.

“It is always particularly satisfying when our achievements are publicly recognised by our partners and peers”, he said.

Last year saw Plenary Group create an equity platform that will significantly enhance its funding options for PPP infrastructure target projects throughout Australia.

Plenary entered into an alliance with the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, one of Canada's leading pension fund managers. The Caisse has invested over $200m in Plenary projects. Plenary also has an alliance with Palisade Investment Partners who invest in local infrastructure on behalf of Australian superannuation funds.

The award follows key project wins on the $1.2b Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre, the $900m Single LEAP Stage 2 and the $1b Gold Coast Light Rail Project.

Plenary Group presently has a portfolio of 21 infrastructure projects across Canada and Australia with a project capitalisation of over $11bn.
