James Cox PhD Scholarship in Architecture
Published 14 February 2011In April 2008, Plenary Group and the family of James Cox established the 'James Cox PhD Scholarship in Architecture' in the Faculty of Art and Design at Monash University. The scholarship commemorates James Cox - founder of CPR Projects, founding Director of Plenary Group and visionary leader in public-private partnerships.
The James Cox PhD Scholarship in Architecture supports one student each year, providing them with tuition fees, a living allowance for up to four years, and provision for a period of international research or placement relevant to the project. Eligible candidates will normally have first class or second class division A honours in their prior studies and an outstanding folio of design achievement. The scholarship will be awarded to an applicant whose imaginative and experimental idea or project has demonstrable practical outcomes in the development of the urban environment.
The inaugural James Cox PhD Scholarship in Architecture was awarded in 2010.
